The misunderstood Highlander II movie and ecofascism

I have always liked this movie and the special edition is excellent, well to the point, my younger brother has just made aware of the parallels of the plot of this movie with the current fear mongering by the ecofascits who promote the Global Warming/Climate Change scare.

In this movie Connor Macleod helps to create a shield to replace the dissapearing Ozone Layer and thus saves mankind.

Decades later, life has become miserable under the corporative dictatorship of The Shield Corporation; Connor Macleod gets romantically involveld with a good ecoterrorist who alerts him of the reality. The Shield Corporation is just exploiting the nations of the World, & the Ozone Layer is intact.
