In Dune 2021 they also did the explaining thing, at the beginning Chani tells us a lot of stuff, then some minutes later they show us Paul studying a filmbook and then they again explain us a lot of stuff, I laughed a lot both times because, they promising to be different repeated the same explaining thing than in Dune 1984.
One thing that annoyed me of Dune 2021 was that in a 3 hours long movie, they left out several key scenes for the plot, they didn't show that the caladanians really love their ruling family, the dinner scene with the high society of Arrakis, in this dinner the Atreides identify new enemies and new friends as well as we can see the developing prowess of Paul as future duke.
Also they left out the guile of Doctor Yueh, when he calls Lady Jessica by her first name in order to hide his nervousness of being the traitor. The conservatory scene when Lady Jessica discovers the warning from Lady Margot Fenring was left out too. Also they left out the suspicions of all the men of Duke Leto about Lady Jessica being the traitor.
Why did they turn Liet Kynes into a woman if with a single phrase Paul destroyed her and left her as a weak woman: "I know you were in love with a fremen warrior". My rating of the adaptations 1: Dune 1984 2: Dune 2000 3: Dune 2021
